tbi: my hospital stays

I stayed in two hospitals while my aneurysm was a recent thing that occured. I stayed for two months in the first, three months in the second. I don't remember much about the first one, which is understandable because I was acting in a more child-like state so I wasn't there mentally and this is a life changing experience. I was taking medication, I had brain surgery and my the back of my skull was open for probably more than 5 months. I was delirius which mostly caused me to have hallucinations daily for that entire time I stayed in the first hospital.

I remember the second hospital a bit better than the first one because I wasn't that delirius during it. I think I just experienced hallucinations sometimes. That second hospital offered therapies that would help me. I had to relearn everything such as walking, talking, washing myself, etc. all over again. I'm not done with getting better, I still need therapies that aren't even offered here or if they are then they have me on a waitlist.

Thankfully, I get better bit by bit overnight because of neuroplasticity and because I'm in my early 20s. Although I don't remember much about my hospital stays, I remember the second hospital more. I enjoyed my therapist, they were wonderful. I have had changes because of this experience but there's still parts of me that are the same. I'm thankful to those that decided to stick around even if I had some changes.
